The Rotary Club of
Ogunquit

Weekly meeting recap of Friday, August 21, 2018

Two long-time friends joined us… Ed Nichols from Sebring, Florida, and Bob St. Eloi, visiting from Canada.

Happy dollars flowed in abundance. Ed Nichols was happy to see Bob St. Eloi. Ed Smith and Julie are headed to Bar Harbor to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary. Pete welcomed both Bob and Ed, our friends from the North and South. Pete reported another gain in the Clynk account; now at $305.10. Bob Cruickshank thanked Pete, the “Bag Man”, for his Clynk efforts. He also thanked Carol Brennan for her support via articles about our club in The Sentinel. Bob St. Eloi was happy to see everyone. Ed Seppa brought a request to the club to help sponsor an effort by the District 7780 Recovery Initiative effort at an upcoming job fair for people in recovery from substance abuse.

Pete held the winning 50/50 ticket. He drew the 6 of Spades and the King of Hearts; the King was close to the Ace but, alas, no cigar! The pot stands at $32.

Regarding the request from the District Recovery Initiative committee, Pete moved to contribute $100; Ed Smith seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

On Friday, September 28, PDG Lawrence Furbish will visit to update us on the Rotary Foundation.

Until then, “Be the Inspiration”,

Ed Seppa
