Several notable activities took place today. Eileen Conlon is the recipient of a Paul Harris award. Brenda Cressey “took the hot seat” to answer a variety of questions about her life. Dr. Joe provided an update on the appalling apprehension of a member of the Biddeford-Saco rotary club by federal ICE authorities. Also, we had a visitor — Dr. Jim Eshleman, a retired primary care physician originally from Norway, Maine and now a resident of Wells.

In happy dollars, Susan is excited for the spring real estate season. Erin reported being “over the Moon” delighted to run into our own Pete Woodbury the other day in Portsmouth. Dr. Joe and Vickie recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. Ed Smith is extremely happy to live in Maine, the best place on Earth!  Ed was dismayed to have to replace all four tires on his car due to a sidewall puncture in one that cannot be plugged. They had only 13,000 miles on them. Eileen was pleased to run into Heidi who is working at Whole Foods. Eileen will spend some time in Florida. Melanie and Raney enjoyed some times in Las Vegas and new York City. A highlight was and Eagles concert. Kerry is looking forward to a trip to South Africa. Pete was beaming over the big hug he received from Erin in their surprise meet-up in Portsmouth.

Seems almost like we're back to normal,

So now we have $452.35 available.

Dr. Joe elaborated on the troubling seizure by ICE of a member of the Biddeford-Saco club, an immigrant from Angola who has been in the US for 8 years and has been a citizen for 3 years. Joe is proposing to our contributions committee that our club make a donation to the Biddeford-Saco club in their efforts to assist this man and his family. Joe says that far from being “the worst of the worst” he actually is the “best of the best.”

Dr. Joe drew the 4 of spades and the 3 of diamonds missing out on $94. 

Erin has found that the Ogunquit Police Department would be happy to receive 50 buckets for the sand and salt program. The club approved a budget of $500 to $700 for the buckets and logos (designed by Cassie Haye.)

Brenda will begin setting up for the Day of Warming at WOCAM at 10:30 on Saturday, February 14.

Rick presented Eileen with a Paul Harris pin in honor of her contributions to Rotary Foundation. Congratulations, Eileen!
