Ten members attended in person and three more joined in on Zoom.

Commenting on the lengthy absence of rain, Ed Smith has observed deer drinking from the pond on his property and squirrels drinking from the birdbath. On behalf of Visitor Services Ray expressed appreciation for Bob Cruickshank’s care of flower boxes. Ray’s daughter, Kimberly, will be appearing at the Music Hall in Portsmouth.  She authored “Free Thinking”, a book focused on the 19th amendment to the Constitution. Tracy noted recent birthdays. Her dad, Larry, turned 80, Eva Nudelman turned 85., and her tenant turned 90.  Pete reports a total of $319.10 in Clynk cash. Erin starts a new job this week in the nurse’s office at Sanford High School. She hopes to be able to keep up with meetings via Zoom. Dr. Joe’s wife, Vickie, is well at home after a hospitalization of several days. Yours truly joined in on York Rotary’s Zoom meeting at which Congresswoman Chellie Pingree shared some thoughts and answered members’ questions.

Tracy drew the 6 of spades and the jack of diamonds, thus missing out on $190… too bad, so sad!

Susan provided an update on board activity for club assembly. The club’s contribution account is low; we’ll be relying on the 2 Cents Sale Raffle to replenish it. Panache donated a 5th prize to the raffle – a pair of gold earrings. The HVAC system at the Chamber is reported to be in good condition following an inspection.  United Way received our $300 contribution to the backpack program for WOCSD. Susan, Bob and, perhaps, others plan to sell raffle tickets at Tracy’s shop on Saturday, October 10.  Tracy, Erin and others plan to decorate Rotary Park for Halloween at 3:15 on Friday, October 3.
