Former Ogunquit Rotarian Les LaFonde made a surprise visit. Also on hand were Richard’s granddaughter Jan Kearns and Emily’s son, Robbie.
 
In a belated nod to Valentine’s Day, Pete offered this nugget to report a balance of $120.85,
 
“Roses are red, violets are blue,
Hey, bottles and cans are colorful, too!
Flowers may mean a lot to your honey,
But CLYNK is where we make some good money!”
 
Richard was pleased that Jan and Jyoti were at his table. Lisa welcomed Les and announced the expected birth of a granddaughter. Elizabeth Ford is happy about her new hearing aids. John had a bad day indeed… after arriving late he was nabbed wearing Erin’s badge! Les was happy to be with us and he congratulated Lisa on earning her degree at YCCC. Ed Seppa thanked Kerry and Lisa for the meatloaf dinner and cupcakes at the Day of Warming at WOCAM on February. He sadly noted the passing of Wells Rotarian Dr. Bill Chigas as well as Bob Cruickshank’s father. Kerry, Susan, George and Ed attended the District 7780 World Understanding and Peace Dinner.
 
George watched $161 fly by as he drew the 4 and king of hearts.
 
Ed Smith provided details of a less than delightful Christmas cruise on the Queen Mary II which experienced uncharacteristic rainy weather and an unscheduled emergency detour. Afterward, he and Julie cancelled two cruises they had on their calendar.
 
Emily reviewed some main points of the recent board of directors meeting. John Clancy has agreed to be our club president for Rotary year 2021-2022. Tracy and Nancy plan to revise the 2 Cents Sale letter to businesses. The board asked the club to consider the value of Thursday socials. There is no interest in continuing the monthly socials. Ed Smith proposed that the club consider adding a third luncheon meeting to our schedule. Erin wishes to host a March Madness social evening at the home the evening of March 26. Emily reminded members to pay 3rd quarter dues.
