The Rotary Club of
Ogunquit

Recap of Thursday, November 4, 2021
Our guests included Naomme Paris, Ogunquit Fire Chief Russ Osgood and Cathleen Toomey, VP of Marketing at Riverwoods CCRC.

Exhibiting no hesitation, Ed Smith fined Connie, who was very much on time, for not wearing her badge. Heath happily announced an upcoming vacation after a long busy summer. Tracy expressed gratitude and relief over her brother’s having moved eight cords of wood for Marcy and Larry’s home construction project. Dr. Joe and Vickie celebrated her birthday at a Vermont B&B. Chief Osgood announced an upcoming vaccine booster clinic. Brenda is happy about the progress of the bylaws committee and that her granddaughter now has a sewing machine. Ray happily announced that the Christmas by the Sea parade is a go! Susan has a new kitchen stove and a new floor for it to rest on. Pete said, “Eight oh six oh five / Thanks to all for pitching in! / Isn’t it amazing how CLYNK adds up, / and now the word is all win win win!”

Richard purchased the winning ticket. Because he had left the meeting early, Dr. Joe drew the club Ace and the spade five. The pot stands at $47.

Cathleen Toomey talked about the benefits and the dollars-and-cents costs of living in a continuing care retirement community.

Susan summarized some items of importance to the club. The October food drive was concluded. November is Foundation month in the world of Rotary. Another beach cleanup is scheduled for November 20. The club made a little over $800 selling bread at Ogunquitfest. On Monday at 3:30, Suzanne Williams of Healthy Rivers will provide an update on the Canines for Clean Water project on Zoom. Our annual meeting will be held on December 16.  Jonathan’s will close for the month of January. Our January 6 meeting may be entirely remote on Zoom. Our January 20 meeting will be held at the Center for Wildlife in Cape Neddick.

Respectfully,
