Thanks to Chief Ed Smith and the Ogunquit Fire Department, the “Thank You Front Line Workers” banner now is displayed over Route 1 at the School Street intersection. Elizabeth Ford reported that 705 Stars for Troops were distributed during the month of April. Pete had a new rhyme to note that the Clynk fund stands at $526.80!
Susan introduced the day’s speaker, Bryce Waldrop, the new administrator and curator of the Historical Society of Wells and Ogunquit. Mr. Waldrop provided an interesting “insider tour” that you won’t want to miss. Click here to see the video of the meeting.
Susan read a nice letter from Nancy Lowenberg in which Nancy expressed thanks for the good wishes she received from numerous club members. Elizabeth Ford, Pete and Erin all helped with the gravestone cleaning at Oceanside Cemetery. Elizabeth says there is a “daunting need” for additional effort. Erin sees an opportunity for our club to have a meaningful connection with the Wells High School Interact club. This year’s 2 Cent Sale Raffle will include additional prizes; tickets will be priced at $10. The April beach cleanup was successful; there will be another effort on May 22. Our June 4 speaker will be Edward Bilsky of Pacific Northwest University. His focus will be the opioid crisis.
