The Canada geese that recently visited Ed Smith’s pond seemed to signal better days ahead. One such day will be May 22 when Bob and Cheryl’s son, Michael, will be ordained a Catholic priest at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in Manhattan. Many Cruickshank family members will be present on that occasion. Saturday, April 24, will also be a good day when members of our club gather at Ogunquit Beach for a beach cleanup effort led by President Susan and Emma Murzic of the Blue Ocean Society.
One day last week, Elizabeth Cutler met with Susan at the Chamber ostensibly to create a video focusing on our club’s March food drive. Susan was surprised to find Dr. Joe and Vickie also were there. It turned out that Susan and Vickie were about to be honored as Paul Harris Fellows!
In other developments, our club will team up with Wells Rotary to arrange for a banner over Route 1 to honor all “front line workers” who have served selflessly through the challenge of Covid-19. Also, our club will donate $100 to support the District 7780 Adverse Childhood Experiences initiative as described by PDG Dave Underhill on our March 5 Zoom. Please notify Erin if you would like to make a personal donation to that cause.
The York Rotary Club is sponsoring a blood drive on Monday, April 26. (See poster below.)
