Great turnout for the annual meeting! The first order of busines was to induct our two newest members, Naomme Paris and Russ Osgood. Erin and Ed Smith provided them with their Rotary badges. Congratulations to Naomme and Russ! Then the nominees for 2022-23 Rotary year club officers were presented. Heath to be president, Alice to be president-elect, Erin to continue as treasurer, and yours truly to continue as secretary. The slate was approved by a show of hands. Much gratitude to Heath and Alice!
Oh, my goodness, so many fines… late arrival, early departure, badgelessness (is that a word?), female clique, male clique, phone violation! Phew! In happy news, Ed Smith noted that he and wife Julie met 40 years ago at a Rotary event on his birthday! Dr. Joe’s Norwegian son Tor will visit next summer. Emily and family just returned from a Disney vacation. Erin is recently released from Covid quarantine. Heath’s father is helping out at the inn. Elizabeth Cutler was ecstatic at having time off from work to attend lunch with us. Melanie’s son Michael met with notable success at a writer’s conference in NYC. Richard, Ray and Naomme all expressed general happy sentiments.
Pete’s latest…
“Merry Christmas and Happy new Year!
Enjoy winter and Santa and his nine reindeer.
Take a break and have something to drink,
Then fill those green bags and take ’em to CLYNK!”
We finished off the meeting with a spirited by exceedingly polite Yankee Swap involving minimal pilfering! We’ll need more highly-sought-after items next year!
I’ll be ordering some Rotary supplies from Russell-Hampton. Does anyone need a replacement badge or a Rotary baseball cap? With shipping, the cost of a badge is between $12 and $15.
Our January 6 meeting will be on Zoom (Jonathan’s will be closed for the month.) Our January 20 meeting might be at The Center for Wildlife; plans are yet to be firmed up.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Year!
