Pastor Brian Shore of the Ogunquit Baptist Church visited us again. Jim Anliot brought his friend Joe Conforto. And Tyler brought Jason Carr, a representative of Maine Youth Leadership.

For the Moment of Gratitude, Rick referred to a parable of sorts he heard online. If misfortune results in a broken pencil, think not of two useless halves but instead of two pencils once they are sharpened. (Or something like that!)

Erin was happy about celebrating her birthday recently. Susan reported that her granddaughter’s health is much improved. Both Bob and Dr. Joe told us the memorial service for Marcie Smith, Tracy’s mom, showed how wonderful the Smith family is. Elizabeth is happy about the success of our current food drive. She also excited about being involved in her niece’s upcoming wedding. Tracy thanked the club for our support. Ed Smith provided an amusing report on the capacitor on his AC system! Former dog-owners Rick and Mark had vowed to never again have that responsibility. They just adopted a coon-beagle mix! Pastor Shore told of  the wounds he has due to his puppy. Dr. Joe said his some of his Norwegian family, including the granddaughter Christina will be visiting him and Vickie in July. Joe also had the winning ticket but did not select the ace of hearts. Pete recently visited Richard.

Erin and Tracy updated us on the Super September Calendar Raffle. Donations are due Friday, May 29. Erin reminded us to sign up to sell calendars at the Ogunquit Rotary booth at PRIDE on June 6 and at BonAire! on June 13. Here’s the link.  

Jim summarized the proposed restructuring of Rotary districts 7780 and 7850. We may obtain more information from ADG Pam Gray at our June 4th meeting.

Tyler introduced Jason Carr. Maine Youth Leadership (MYL) has worked with Maine youth to seek out, recognize, and develop their leadership skills. The organization’s goal is to motivate Maine’s future leaders and create a network of civic-minded students who will better their communities through volunteering.

Jim mentioned that our changeover event will be at the clubhouse at The Forest in Wells on Thursday, June 18 at 5:00.
